Here you can find a range of resources created to empower you
There are many ways you can reduce your emissions relating to food. These include the food choices you make, reducing food waste, growing your own food. These and much more is included in the Climate Crisis Plan Emissions Reduction Workbook. This is available in the download section at the bottom of this page.
Conversations: You can let friends, family, and colleagues know about how you have reduced your emissions by changing your food choices or reducing food waste.
Spread the word: If you find a tasty low carbon recipe, or a new low-carbon food, you can share it with your friends. If you start growing vegetables or herbs, you could post about your first crop. Some people might take a photo and post on social media.
You could ask popular brand manufacturers if they have a plan to reduce emissions by 2030. It is reasonable as a customer to ask them to develop a plan or make them better. You could ask questions by email, a post on their social media or in a product review. You could also ask for net-zero emissions food options, and have less packaging.
Search online to see if your government has a food emissions reduction plan already in place. You could approach a national or state government representative or an official in the agriculture department You could do this on your own, with friends, or through a local climate action group by searching online.
The download section has a list of ideas you can use in the file "Influence government and Industry - Food". You could start with one issue that applies to your region or one that particularly interests you and adapt it to make it your own and fit your local circumstances. For example, supporting farmers to implement existing solutions, research into emissions reductions, reducing food loss, uptake of new technology, and many others.
